Auto Maintenance

If there was ever a time to keep up on regular scheduled maintenance on your vehicle, now is the time!

With all of the doom and gloom out there about the auto manufacturers, car sales have dipped down to an all time low. Whether it is due to the fear of spending money in a tough economic climate, or the worry of purchasing a vehicle with the fear that the automaker will not be around long enough to honor the warranty. People are hanging on to there vehicles as long as they can.

To keep your vehicle running in tip top shape for as long as you can it is vital that you keep up on the maintenance.

For example:

Oil changes every 3000 miles- Most Auto Makers recommend oil changes every 7500 miles or when your oil change light comes on. An oil filter only last up to 4500 miles, after that point the filter will become plugged and bypassed.

Flushes- ie. transmission, differential, coolant, power steering, fuel injection

Some people might think that these are unnecessary services, but what it never hurts to keep new fluid in, and old dirty fluid out of your vehicle.

Tire rotations- every 6000 miles, this is the best way to prolong the life of your very expensive tires, if you notice a light feathering in your tires you might want to rotate using the Modified X

Alignment- every 12,000 miles, this is another good way to ensure that you are getting all that you can out of your tires. It is also a good way to keep the mechanics of your front end checked for proper function.

Fuel Filter- every 30,000 miles, a fuel pump is a very expensive repair, and a fuel filter is the best way to keep it running.
